SO yesterday we wasted 4 hours of our life. We will never get them back. We went to a child development center to get check up for the kids. The doctor wanted to do reevaluations. UM no we just did that last year. No thanks not wasting 8 hours total in testing time for the same diagnosis just because CT doesn’t use the same testing.
She then wanted to do an iq test on Blake. So we are allowing that to gage better how smart he is. So this may help with some of the class room issues we are having with him day dreaming. He may just know the material and be bored. So we shall see who this goes.
How come its the doctors first thought to take kids of a medicine regimen that works because it isn’t the way you do the medication? They have been on these meds for about a year now and are doing good. They do need a bit of tweaking but really for what is working why mess with it? Yelled at us for having them on risperadol so young. So we wont do Ritalin. We have heard to many horror stories. We are willing to try other meds but you don’t have to be a jerk about it. So we are going to just have our doctor maintain the meds we are. Once we get stationed see what happens from there.
I am so disappointed that we had to waste a morning like that. The kids missed out on school. We did learn that SC Child development center is not for us. I hate nothing more than condescending doctors. My favorite line was we don’t put children on meds to sleep. Ha my response well if you want a child who sleeps 10 minutes in a 24 hour period I would be happy to leave him with you. I personally like my sleep. She responded with well your the parent and should be doing what is right for him. Hello Inst sleep whats best for him?
Another reason I hate this diagnosis. You get people who claim to have the best interest of the children but if you aren’t paying for it out of pocket they brush you off and make you feel stupid. The best part it cost us 12.00 to park there for four hours. I would have ratherd given the money to a person on the street. So now I have that off my chest of aggravations.
Paul went yesterday got all his information for Monday nights journey to Columbia to be sworn in. He had to bring my license back to the recruiters office. I had answered the phone and told him I was going to charge him for this since I had offered it up early Thursday knowing he needed it. He laughed. Love this group of recruiters in the office. All of whom will be checking in on me and the kids while Paul is gone. They all know we have no one down here. So that is really nice.
Also today is my Grandma’s birthday. HAPPY BIRTHDAY GRANDMA.
hope you all enjoy your weekend. we are off to enjoy the almost 70 degree weather.
