Shall we take a stroll down memory Lane? I remember being about 7 the first time I watched the ballroom dancing competition on TV at my grandparents house. I should clarify right now that its my bio fathers parents house. When my parents divorced that is where he lived. He also helped take care of his father who had cancer. So now that we have the parameters set. My grandfather had the best reclining chair. I would snuggle up with him and off we would watch. I loved watching Michael and Vicky Barr glide across the dance floor. How beautiful the costumes were. It was one of the few things my grandparents watched.
I saw some of the best. When they would travel to the area my grandparents would go and watch them live. Always felt a bit jealous. Did I ever want to be a dancer? No. I did love watching and just really smiling ear to ear as I watched. It was watching a story unfold in front of you. The grace, beauty and talent. The tricks they included were just simply breath taking. Cheering on the partners that I loved. Its one of the few things I did with that side of the family. Have continued to watch when I can find it on TV. They always make me remember being curled up with my Grandpa.
These are some of my favorites Arunas Bizokas/Katusha Demidova, Luca/Loraine Baricchi, Michael/Vicky Barr, and Marus and Karen Hilton. Some are older and some newer. As time went on I have found it harder and harder to find a channel that shares this dancing. I was more than excited when Dancing with the Stars came out and So you think you can dance. I watch them faithfully.
So when I got a email stating that Chelsie Hightower, Tristan MacManus and Peta Murgatroyd were coming. I was extremely excited. I have followed Chelsie from her So You Think You Can Dance to Dancing with the Stars. I absolutely love her dancing. I knew the other two were part of the Dance Troupe. We are hoping to see them paired this year. They are amazing. For those not familiar with them I will post video for you.
They did a meet and greet with us Wednesday during the day and then that night it was off to learn how to salsa and whatever other dances you wanted to know about. It was a BLAST!!! These three are truly talented and absolutely amazing. They are down to earth and want to know about your story and journey in the military as well as answering your questions. I learned Tristan lives close to where my grandmothers family comes from. Peta where my girlfriend Jen lived. Along with more about the personalities and what they do for fun besides dancing. We loved hanging with them. Our community is thankful for them to take time from there free time to visit. They find out 3 weeks 1 day before the show returns in September who and if they get partnered with.I can’t wait for the next season!
We really did have so much fun with them. I love how easy going and laid back they were. Here is Tristan and Peta Dancing.
