Happy 4th of July…
This year has been a hard road of first without my dad. Confirmations, graduations, weightloss goals, and now his favorite holiday the 4th. So what do I do. Surround myself with those who love us most and knowing the few who couldnt were with us in thoughts and prayers. We went to the columbia parade. It is great. The kids bring super soakers and go against the firemans hose. They collect candy and jsut all around have a good day. Lenny and Gina and kids went with us. We met up with my Uncle Eddie and my Babci. My mom and the boys. My Uncle Eric and Ant Ione and their girls Maddie and Chelsea. We had a blast. We had some funny moments with Gina. A day isnt complete without a ginaism or 2 or three. She was so excited to see Richard Blumenthal. I think she made him blush with all her yelling there he is and I know him. The famous why cant the give the poor bastard a car. He likes to walk. Then we saw the Knights of Columbus she wanted the feathered hat. Then came the shriners with the little cars and fancy hats. She wanted those too. God bless her. She was mild here. She went head to head with every fire truck and even the guy in his scuba gear. She also had back up from Lenny and the kids. It was a great time. Tracy next year your crew needs to come down the night before and go with us.
Then we had everyone over for a cook out. The kids did water balloons and water guns. then the adults took over. It was fun had by all. We were all drenched and cold but it was worth it. I think my dad would have been proud.
We then did the cheesey fireworks for the kids. I am not impressed by them. But hey it was for them. We are going to the Manchester ones tonight. I cant wait.
So thank you for the love and support of getting through this holiday. Next hurrdle the kids bdays. I think we will do just fine. With all the love and support from friends and family.
