Here is the worlds easiest recipe for sugar dumplings. The first thought was huh really? I know when I do the second thought it is always a hit here.
What you need:
2 Granny Smith Apples peeled cored and wedged
2 cans of crescent rolls
1 cup butter
1.5 cups white sugar
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1 can mountain dew (12oz)
What to do:
Preheat the oven to 350 degree (175 C). Grease a 9×13 inch baking dish.Cut each apple into 8 wedges. (walmart apple slicer 94 cents) Set them aside for now. Unroll the dough and separate the triangles. Roll each apple wedge starting at small end first and pinch sides closed.
In a large sauce pan mix sugar butter and cinnamon over med heat. Pour over the dumplings.
Pour Mountain Dew over the dumplings and bake for 45 minutes until golden brown.
Finished product you can serve with vanilla ice cream.
