Today we visited Boone Hall Plantation. It is absolutely beautiful there. The kids Had a ball learning about everything that goes on at the plantation. It is still a working plantation.
The grounds are breath taking at points. Others are out of season right now. They hold wonderful events. We passed a bride as we were leaving tonight.
They house Mares for a top notch Female Polo person. Though they would not disclose the name. They were beautiful but you couldn’t get to close.
The house is breath taking no pictures allowed inside the house as it is still lived in on the third and second floors. I wish that the lady giving the tour was a bit more knowledgeable though.
We met a lady name Caroline. She did the Gullah presentation. I linked you to the festival to get knowledge on the culture. She was absolutely wonderfully done . Kids and I have to watch the paper. As Nate had his picture taken today for it with Caroline.
The tram ride was a lot of fun. It takes you all around the property.
The “Slave Street” cabins were an experience I cant describe. They bring you back in time and make you feel the way they felt. the stories on the wall were unreal. Caroline tells of growing up on the Hanson Plantation and McLeod Plantations. Just a surreal experience. Paul and I both love history and will be returning here.
I will post a slide show tomorrow. For now I am exhausted.
