Here is the slide show of yesterday. Blake and I were talking about it while I was making dinner. He said that he is thankful that he didn’t have to live in those little houses. How sad those children must have been. He really is wise beyond his years. He knows more and feels more than what a six year old should.
He was telling his teacher about it today. She called to share the conversation as he had a lot of questions about slavery. They will be going to the plantation in the spring for activities there. If you are a home school family in the area this is a must.
We are still processing all the information given to us. You leave thankful for the times you live in. Caroline had a way with her words and it let it be known how it was. What it was like to grow up even in the 30’s and 40’s on the plantations.
Answering a few questions
YaYa asked how the frog got in the toilet? either when we had rain and it was by the door and then found its self in there. More likely he came in through the plumbing. They do that down here.
Forgot who emailed me sorry and Paul emptied our email . We got the dog from our local spca. I would do it again despite the fleas. They really do give you a lot for your money.
Gina emailed and asked where in SC we are. We are in Summerville and it is a town that is about 40 minutes wide. Huge Town. Kids have about 1200 per graduating class. The other grades are broken down into smaller schools. I know in a five minute radius around us there are 4 elem k-5 and then 3 middle schools. Not including the preparatory school.
Thanks Megan for posting your recipe we will be trying it tonight 🙂
