Blake asked me today what my perfect day is. I love how thoughtful he can be.
For me my perfect day is my butt plopped down on the beach with a good book or writing. I love the sound of the waves crashing. When we were younger my grandparents would rent a cottage and my mom would take a week too. I would sleep in the front of the house with the window open just to hear the crashing of the waves. Those are some of the best memories I have.
Where I would sleep so deeply and peacefully. I would wake to the sun just spilling in the window. Just a bit. It is one of my favorite places to be. I can remember the way that cottage was set up like the back of my hand. How I loved we had our own beach area before you got the public beach.Where we could build sand castles and no one knock them down.
I am home at the beach. Then I thought about it more. My perfect days have changed now that I have kids and a husband. I love that my kids love the beach as much as I do. That we have those moments.
I think the perfect day for us now is lazy Sundays where we are all snuggled up on the couch watching movies. Nothing better than snuggle time. We love those days. I know Paul does too.
I asked Blake what his perfect day was. His response “anything that ends with an ice cream smoothie.” You have to love the honesty.
Whats your perfect day?
