The Mainzer Dom is just gigantic. When you walk in you do your holy water cross. Then there are alters for lighting candles and praying. I debated if I should lite one since my husband was standing in this beautiful 100o year old church. I was hoping the whole thing didn’t collapse around him and his atheist beliefs. Though I think he may finally be seeing what I and my children believe. In God’s eye it is never to late. Do I got to a physical church often no. I haven’t found one that suits me. I do however read from my bible every morning in peace. Enjoy connecting with my faith. With that said. We made it through without Paul causing the walls to crash and burn. This church is breath taking. I forgot the lens with the stabilizer in it. So most came out fuzzy. Blake said ” Momma it’s ok the Angles wanted to play”. Thanks kid. I sat in the front pew in awe of the alter. I have never seen anything like this. Just massive and beautiful. We walked and the stained glass just breath taking. You just want to be there and not leave. The peace this church brought was astounding. Even Paul commented on it. We saw the crypts and that was Um a bit unsettling but its all good. The boys were in awe. Blake kept commenting how pretty everything was. Nathan loved the statues.
Here are some of the pictures we got while in there.
