Our family owes a debt of gratitude to Larry The Cable Guy. We have been fans of his for years. So much so I left my 2 month old to go see him and enjoy a night out. I had been cleaning one night and happened to find Nate’s bucket list.
So he said “Momma take a picture and tell Larry about my list” Sure son. Told him not to be upset if Larry didn’t get back to him as he has 1000’s of fans. So we added #deploymentsucks #armybrats. Imagine my surprise when I get a tweet back and a follow. He invited the boys and I to the show. The tears welled in my eyes. I knew my baby was going to see that dreams come true. Nathan’s form of Autism at times shows his immaturity. When most kids his age are past liking cars and frozen ect. He still loves them. Mater has been his favorite since he was a little guy. We have more mater trucks than I can count. He loves the movie the tooth fairy. He is a die hard Larry the Cable Guy fan. We enjoy the family nights where we put the movies on and giggle. It is a tiny break from missing our loved one who is serving overseas. Not only that he allowed good friends to join in the fun.
What we didn’t tell Nate was that his dreams were about to come true. We kept it a secret. He was so excited. Smiles that lasted days
Larry is the sweetest guys. He was showing us pictures of his children who are beautiful. He took the time to make my children feel like they truly mattered to him. To brighten up their day. Nathan was in awe. He couldn’t believe he was talking to Mater. He was asking him about school. About his hobbies. He told him about riding horses and his love of them.
We cannot wait for Paul to come home and attend a show in South Carolina. As Paul needs to see his sons faces first hand when watching his show. They cracked up. They particularly liked his Donny skit.
Not to mention now when Nathan is made he now uses Larry’s line ” I am madder than a leg less woman with coupons to payless!”
I can never thank him enough for giving my kids and myself the opportunity to meet him. We are so very thankful. The memories are hung through out his bedroom. He tells everyone he can that he met Mater. Kids in school thought that was awesome!!! He has taken two different pictures for show and tell. He took one of all of us with Larry and the special autograph.
I am still having to find a fish hook for his hat. Christmas list items. Now when he goes to clean all you hear is Git R done. Same as if he is struggling with his horse back riding. This kid cracks me up.

Larry I cannot thank you enough for the memorable night. A night of laughs needed not only by the kiddos but me as well. There are times when this deployment has been daunting. September was one of those months. I am so very thankful for your extreme kindness. It was so needed to forget about this deployment for a few hours. Reno was hysterical as well. God Bless!
