Seven years ago today you graced me and your daddy with your presence. I couldn’t have been more excited to meet the little one who kicked my ribs sore. The minute I saw you I feel instantly in love. A love that is beyond words to describe. You were absolutely perfect in my eyes. You had the longest lashes I had ever seen. Your hands and feet were gigantic. Which says much about your height today. You are as tall as the average 10 year old and weight the same as the average 10 year old. You are just a big boy.
This is one of my favorite photos of you. You are with your Pop Pop and proof he held you first. He was smitten with you.
So hard to believe 7 years ago you were that tiny little baby. Who needed Mommy and Daddy for everything. Today you are the most independent kid I have met. You rather do things on your terms. You think it is pretty cool mommy is writing a book about you and your brother. This year you will enter second grade with Mrs. Greene as your teacher. You are confidant in who you are and what you believe.
Your friends are Aiden and James. You have many more but this is who talk about constantly. You are extremly smart with numbers and statstics. You have a passion for history like none other. You want to know about everything that happened in the past. You love going to the plantations and hearing the stories. You have come to love South Carolina and the beaches as much as Mommy and Daddy.
This summer has been a bit hard for you with Daddy being gone. You miss him like crazy. He misses you too. I am positive of that.
We have done a ton of fun things though. You were brave at the fire works and you enjoyed a visit to Middleton place and Magnolia Gardens. You also have enjoyed the water taxi and Summerville 3rd Thursdays.
You are into all things super hero and wizards. Your favorite meal is pizza, avacado burgers, and all pasta. Your favorite snack is dirt cake and jello.
You have a love of art and animals.Your art work clutters our fridge. Little man you make me smile day in and day out. You share your opinions whether we asked or not. You think that you can run the show. You just want to be fully independent. You are very much like your Daddy. You can make me laugh so hard I cry. You are a joy to have in our family.
I can’t believe you have grown into this handsome little boy who is full of life and wants to absorb the world around him to the fullest.
We love you little man. Happy 7th Birthday. My wish for you this year is that your dreams come true and you keep showing us daily who you are and who you want to become.
