So I think I have found another family Christmas tradition for us. Poor Nate still not feeling well bless his little heart was still wanting to go. So We packed up bundled him in layers. It was 39 last night in SC and though I left this cold shit behind me. Guess not. Can I just say little man was breathing better than he has in days. Guess the cold air is good for that.
So off to Middleton place we went. What a great place and the grounds are beautiful. The kids were so excited and the candles were beautiful. Our first stop the Blacksmiths quarters and work shop. He was actually working on stuff. the kids were intrigued score 1 for the blacksmith. He was busy working on wedding favors for a girl who is getting married there soon enough. Poor man has a month to make 250 of these favors.
From there we stopped by the stables. The sheep were by far the cutest and very vocal. all you heard was bahhh bahhh bahhh. The horses gorgeous. Cant wait to go back in the spring for a date day with the husband.
The porter found us and asked the boys to join him in playing marbles. They looked at him funny. Apparently I don’t expose the kids enough to the 1800 fun activities lol. So the deal was if you beat the porter you get to keep your marbles. Blake whooped his butt 10-6. That’s my boy. Nate beat him 5-4. They got cute bags to put their marbles in.
They then got to make pine cone bird feeders with peanut butter. We also made snowflakes with Angel; hairs. They also made what they called African ornaments. Those are adorable. We will be making those next year to send home for the trees. We had popcorn that was popped over an open fire. We heard carolers sing and dance. The kids knew here we go a wassailing thanks to little woman. It was a lot of fun! Cant wait to make it family tradition.
Nate had a blast despite being sick. We decided to hold off on the wreath decorating that they offered to us. We will most defiantly be doing it next year. They have not stopped talking about it.
For next weekend we will be doing the Lowe’s build and grow dog treat clinic and then summerville parade.
