Saturday night we were able to head to Nashville after a day of looking at homes around the area. The kids were hungry and we had reservations at Dick’s Last Resort. They are conviantly located next to a bunch of the museums that we had wanted to see. The Cash Museum and Country hall of fame are all within walking distance. The shopping is fantastic. So Dick’s was in a perfect location.
If you have never eaten at Dick’s, you have to go in with a light heart. They are sarcastic, they make the kids work, and they are hysterical. We watched a group of kids between age 20 and 34 bring their parents in. The kids were snickering. Apparently they hadn’t told mom and dad all about t Dick’s Last Resort. Destiny our server even warned them they get Sarcastic and Flippant. Well apparently the parents didn’t appreciate it. I loved the restaurant. It was a place I could work and have fun. Seriously It is fun.
My boys found it hysterical when the bar tender started throwing napkins everywhere when a lady at the bar asked for a napkin. They pile ended up between our tables. They loved all the crazy sayings on the hat. Though most went over the 11 year olds head. So that gave his Dad and I a huge giggle. The servers were phenomenal. We really enjoyed our time with Destiny. I asked what adult drink she suggested. After spending 8 hours’ house hunting I deserved that drink. Not to mention if you have never had the pleasure of driving in Nashville you may want a few Xanax. Trust me when I say the Electric Peach was earned. It was amazing.
Let’s talk about the food. It was fantastic. We did not order one thing we did not like. We started out with the crabby balls. Best crab cake we have had in a long time. I had a Caesar Salad with Steak. It was perfection. The meat fell apart. It was dressed so the greens didn’t wilt. Paul had the Chicky Fried Chicky. He said it was really good. He is picky when it comes to chicken and gravy. Has to be southern style and done right. He said the gravy was perfectly seasoned. Nathan ordered the Corn Doggie. They accidentally brought him Chicky bites but quickly fixed it. I think he sat no more than 5 minutes before his meal was out. Blake ate both baskets of Chicky Bites. He loved them. For dessert we had Not Yer Mamma’s Cheesecake. I am a self-admitted cheesecake snob. Growing up close to NYC restaurants have a lot to live up too. Theirs was really good. I am glad I shared it with Paul as the serving size is huge. Two people can easily share it. The boys shared a chocolate chip cookie. Promptly told their Daddy that Dick’s Last Resort cookie was better than the ones he made. He worked in Vermont at a hotel and made their desserts.
There was a birthday girl next to us. They had a bit of fun with her!
We had so much fun. They have a great gift shop. When we go back I am so buying the “They have hooters We have Dick’s” tee. Along with the Relax I am Hilarious shirt. I usually tell Paul I am hilarious quite often. Have for years. This will remind him of how funny I truly am. Thank you Dick’s Last Resort for hosting us. Thank you Destiny for memories that our family was able to create in our new hometown area. It was a great way to start off our new chapter. We will be back.
Disclosure: Dinner was provided by DLR at no cost to us. We paid for the fun cups and alcoholic beverages. In exchange for a honest review.
