So over the last week we have had many hysterical conversations. The first one happened the night my family arrived. Paul was sitting in our bed. My sister and I sitting on the floor on the computer trying to decide what we would do Sunday. We started in on the conversation of what a sand dollar was made of. None of us knew. Thank god for google.
So we learn that they belong to the class of Echinoidea. That a sand dollar is actually the skeleton from the the sea urchins.

As you can see really really pretty. Shannon and I start talking about how at the U.S.S. Yorktown was selling these painted ones for 10.00 and can I say they werent all that pretty. My 6 year old could do a better job. She said she will learn how to scuba dive so we can cash in on the this. I laughed.
Well apparently Paul didn’t hear the conversation of sand dollars are skeletons. He just bust out with ” its OK we can breed them.” Shannon and I a bit puzzled asked breed what? Him sand dollars. My sister with out missing a beat turns to me and says “He wants to breed skeletons”. Me laughing so hard I was crying.
Yes it is true my husband wanted to breed skeletons…. wonder how successful he could be with this project. Poor man hasnt lived this down and dont think he , ever will.
All for the love of sand dollars
