Blake did great today… Here is the run down
At 445 Paul and I woke for the morning. Then at 515 time to wake the Man of the hour Blake. He wasn’t ready to get up. He tried to cover back up. At 525 we left and realized we needed gas. Damn. Poor guy was so thirsty but understanding when we told him he couldnt have anything to drink. We arrived at the hospital at 605 am. We check in with tricia. At 635 she gives us our in and 645 we are in the pre op holding area. Blake settles in Nicely with Nurse Debbie. She is a sweet red headed lady with a kind caring bedside manner. Just what Blake needed. At 704 Melanie from life services came in and told Blake all about the or and what to expect and that he could drive himself into the or. This made his day. At 715 Craig and Melissa came in to tell Blake about going to sleep and had me sign my child over to them. Let me tell you the anasthesia paperwork can scare a person. He was going in for oral surgery not heart and your telling me there is a chance for parlyasis, death, cardiac arrest. Ok Dad come sit and hold this little mans hand please dont let anything happen to him. The least of our worries were vomitting and diarhhea afterwards. The preface wasnt even a thought until i had read it in black and white.
725 Dr Gilkes comes in and talks with us. She is a sweet lady. She put us to rest. 730 They come and get Blake to go to the “parking lot” to drive himself into the or. He picked the escalade. That is the last i saw until Paul came back with Melanie at 740. Apparently he really liked the laughing gas and had full belly laughs. We went checked into the waiting room. Then went to the adjoining hospitals friendlys so we could eat. I was starting to feel nauseated and needed something. Back upstairs by 830. We passed the time to 930 by playing cards. When dr Gilkes came in the room to tell us that everything went perfect and needed less work than anticipated. I was expecting to see her another hour or two later. He did great phew…I guess at this point I should point out my asking my dad to sit with him was not stated out loud to Blake it was my silent prayers. I did not want to scare him. We got to back to him at 945. He was still sleeping soundly. One poor boy was screaming bloody murder for his mommy and daddy. It broke my heart he had no nurse. He slowly woke up. He was so sleepy… We finally were able to leave at 1045.On the way home he told me pop pop sat on the bed with him and held his hand.. Thank you dad!
Some funny side notes he looked at his allergy bracelet and told us that they spelled his name wrong… silly guy. He also told us when he was 8 he would be 3 and then proceeded to tell me all about icarly..
God Love this little boy…
