With it being ever so cold in Germany. Soup is my go to. I love soup and this is one you can make and let sit on low.
What you Need:
4 large baking potatos
2/3 cup butter
2/3 cups flour
3/4 tsp salt
1/2 tsp pepper
4 green onions chopped ( i used six)
12 slices bacon fried and crumbled ( i cook the whole package)
2 cups shredded cheddar cheese ( i used more than the 2 cups)
1 cup (8oz) sour cream
Cut potato in half. Scoop out the pulp and put in a small bowl
Melt butter in large kettle add flour, Gradually stir in milk. Continue to stir until smooth, thickened and bubbly
stir in pulp, salt, pepper and three quarters of onions, bacon and cheese. Cook until heated. Stir in sour cream.
Transfer to slow cooker set on low to keep warm. Top with remaining onions, bacon and cheese. Take to a potluck or serve on a buffet table straight from the cooker.
