This is what 50 years of marriage looks like. These are my grandparents. To be exact my mom’s parents. Whom I love and adore more than chocolate it’s self. Now that is saying much. When I am happy, sad, scared, don’t know what choice to make I call them.
I don’t know honestly they have done 52 years other than hard work and dedication. When Paul wanted to join the military. They were the first ones I called. This week I saw even more love and dedication after some troubles with my grandfather. You can read more about that on my slimming down blog.
I do know I want Paul and I to be this madly in love when we mark these milestones. I strive to have the marriage that they have and I know marriages lasting that long are far and few between this day and age. They have now been married 52 years going on 53 years. I love when they tell stories of when they first got together and met. Our favorite story is how my grandfather lost his wedding band in a bar fight in Portland ct. He came back a year later and the waitress had found it stuck in a floor board and had it waiting his return.
I also love all the stories of their adventures in Germany while stationed there. Visiting the Castles and the wax museums. They truly have lived a blessed life. I hope the same for our family.
Love you Grandma and Papa
