It is the first day of 2014 and oh the possibilities. This year I am setting goals that are attainable for both myself and the family. 2013 for the most part was a great year for our family. I want the same for this new start.
2013 allowed us to travel more of Europe from Belgium to Czech. See more of Germany. Form great friendships and lasting memories. It was also a half year of learning. Lesson learned was that you can’t save those who don’t want saving. I offered up the world for someone to stay away from the abuser and it just couldn’t happen. I wanted more for her and her children and she didn’t. While I am sad I had to walk away. I just couldn’t allow my kids to see what was going on in that house or expose myself. Though I am thankful for that lesson. It reminded me that my family forever comes first.
In 2014 we start the year with a move to a new duty station. The test of finding new friends. The boys enter a new school and Paul a new unit. I am thankful that I know a few people there who are not military related. I look forward to finding ways to help with SGT Jamie Jarobee foundation.
I am looking forward to going to church with Annie from Mamadweeb. I have missed church but couldn’t find one in the Wiesbaden community that I enjoyed. So the prospects in Kansas are great.
I am looking forward to really getting our blog back up and going to what it once was. I have a ton of post sitting in draft form that I will be editing and getting posted. I have 13 different recipes waiting for postings. I just lost my mojo over there. I have missed it. We will be live from Harlem Globetrotters in Topeka later this month. We are so excited for that.
As a family I am making it priority that we spend 1 hour a day together just focusing on us as a whole. No distractions. Whether it is a game, reading a story or whatever. We will have that 1 hour of quality time together. It got lost the last few months of being in Germany.
I can’t wait to see what 2014 brings to our family. Here is to hoping all you guys have a fantastic new year.
Happy New Year to you all.
